The Hanafi school calculates Asr as the time when an object's shadow reaches twice its length plus the shadow at zenith. The Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali schools use once the length. This creates a 30 to 60-minute difference in Asr time depending on season and latitude. Your tool must let you choose.
A surprising number of prayer tools display yesterday's or tomorrow's times after midnight because they fail to handle timezone boundaries correctly. The tool must compute times against the target location's IANA timezone — not the user's device clock.
At higher altitudes and extreme latitudes (Scandinavia, Northern Canada, Southern Argentina), standard formulas break down. A reliable platform must handle these edge cases gracefully rather than displaying blank or wildly incorrect times.
